The LTFCA presented Lifetime Achievement Awards to four very deserving individuals during a moving ceremony in Baton Rouge. (l-r) Bob Woodworth, L.J. Raymond,Mary Alice Nolan, the wife of honoree Tom Nolan and Lawrence Hunter were on hand to accept the awards.
Raymond talked of his early days as a coach where he had to make due with makeshift equipment and no track in order to field his teams. A humble Hunter gave credit to his athletes, assistant coaches and family for much of his success and implored young coaches to work hard.
Bob Woodworth’s emotional acceptance demonstrated how passionate he still is for the sport.
Mary Alice Nolan accepted the award on behalf of her late husband Tom, the longtime Comeaux High School coach who passed away in October. Bios of all of the LTFCA Lifetime Achievement Award recipients can be found in the Lifetime Achievement Award section. |
